Despite that, Humboldt manged to figure out that everything is connected. His originality was astounding, but there was a good reason for that. He never went to school. Neither did he earn a university degree. Nor did he ever take any interest in politics. By contrast, Humboldt simply smiled at criticism, moved on and invented modern science.

of Campbeltown. He made one area of Scotland interesting for all by his
descriptive books. Now it is about to be destroyed in the name of political
advancement for pseudo-“green” free-loaders in Holyrood, most of whom seem so
stupid they do not understand what they are destroying. But their poisonous
breath is polluting the whole of Kintyre, where once the mossy saxifrage
blossomed…
